Today's Featured Biography
Brian Stanek
It's cool to find this sight and see friends from the past. I would have added a photo but haven't got a clue on how to do it.
Presently I am living in Jerusalem, Israel and I am the head coach of an Israeli American Football Team. Last year I had the privilege of both coaching and playing as the center that snaps the ball to the quarterback, Dude...I was the oldest starter and littlest lineman in the league. The consequences were extended periods of pain, playing in pain and everyone was bigger than me. They say size isn't everything, but I got to see size from where most don’t, and amazingly enough, I am honored to say none of those monsters, including a former nose tackle from Texas A and M ever sacked my quarterback.
You probably think I am bragging…Daaa : )

Though I did not graduate with my class I was with them until wrestling season was over my senior year of 1974 when I joined the United States Army in the final years of Vietnam. I hope those in charge of sending out invitations to attend the “Class of 74’s” reunion will add me to their list. The “Class of 74” was my class and many in that class I had been in school with through both Junior and Senior High.
If I was known for anything at Fort Myers High it would have been for being Stanley Walkers Siamese twin (if I were alone people wondered where Stanley was and if Stanley was alone people wondered where I was and now I have no idea where or how to contact him), wrestling and partying too much.
Upon enlistment, the Army tried to get me to wrestle for them, but I declined because I just wasn’t in the mood for dieting any more. But however, after being stationed at Ft. Bragg and getting into a fight with a guy I almost knocked out twice who outweighed me by 40 pounds and was already on the Battalion Boxing team invited me to join the boxing team. So much for not dieting anymore. I actually lost more weight (from 145 lbs to 123 lbs) to box in the feather weight division than I ever lost (from 145 lbs to 128 lbs) to wrestle. After winning the Division Championship a scout from the Olympic Boxing Commission came and offered me the opportunity of training for the Olympics as one of…MANY…in the feather weight division. But at the time, my status didn't allow me. That is a time that will always haunt me.
I was married, the father of 8 (5 sons; 3 daughters) who are now fine hard working adults.
I have lived on both sides of the Law Enforcement Badge since being stationed at Fort Bragg. I even had the privilege of serving as a Deputy Marshal…Wow, who would have ever imagined that, not even me.
I have also lived like the devil and had the blessed honored to Pastor some of G-d’s flock as well; talk about a life of one extreme to the other, that has been mine, and now I’m living somewhere in the middle and have been a radio news correspondent in the Middle East for the last couple of years.
My life has taken me from breaking the law to enforcing it, rock’n roll to country stomp’n, roping, breaking and training horses (many of which broke me in the process) and from the US to the Middle East.
I do hope to include in this a life of mine an invitation to the reunion for “The Class of 1974” and get to C U there.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
