Today's Featured Biography
Marilee Strayhorn Lindner
Got B.S. degree at Nyack College, Nyack, NY, June 2, 1958. Turned in my cap and gown, picked up my wedding cake, crossed the Hudson River with cake in hand, and married the love of my life, Lanny, in Stamford, Conn. that very evening!....full day. A year later, we moved to Pensacola, FL, to parent in a Children's Home at the Waterfront Rescue Mission for a year, after which we moved to Wheaton,IL where Lanny completed his degree and our 2 children were born. I took in ironing and cared for children in my home so I could stay with our own children
until the youngest was nearly 4 when I took them with me as I began teaching in Pre-Schools after which I began teaching Kindergarten in the public schools. We moved back to my home town in '83 where I had to re-learn all about gardening, of course. I still teach kindergarten; and Lanny dabbles in commercial real estate. We are happily settled in Buckingham and more importantly, in Christ Community Church, where I've re-connected with folks I knew at age 15...so very long ago!
