Today's Featured Biography
Martha Wingate Milne
Since graduating from FMHS I've changed a bit, as have we all! Amazing to think that our fifty year reunion is coming up next year. WOw. To catch you up on my adventures since June, 1962, here's the "short" version: went to Edison, graduating in 1964, then on to FAU where I stayed to get my B.S. and M.Ed. degrees (I think I stayed for the M.Ed. as I just couldn't bear to leave all the fun at school quite so soon!). Then it was on to Miami where I worked for the state Human Resources dept. for a year as a social worker, then took a job teaching 7th and 8th grade English in South Miami. Great kids, a hard, but fun job. Then I was able to get hired by Delta Air Lines, a dream job for me, and ended up staying with Delta for more than 28 years, did lots of traveling, met many wonderful people who remain my friends (we call it the Delta Family). During those years at Delta my first marriage (to my college sweetheart) ended, I met my present husband, Robert, we married, and our son, James, was born. For family reasons we moved to Fort Myers in the late 90's. James was in school here from age 11 through graduation from Cypress Lake High School Center for the Arts. From there he went on to The School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he graduated in May, 2008. He married last May, and he and his wife are now living in New York (I miss them a lot!). I've gone back to teaching, and am presently an adjunct professor at Florida Gulf Coast University, in the College of Education. A number of people I knew at FMHS are friends I'm still in touch with (some since kindergarten! You know who you are). They are all dear to me, and I know I should do a much better job of keeping up! Being in high school was like nothing else before or since. I remember crying on graduation night because I didn't want it to end, and I knew we'd never be all together again as we were then. It was a special time, and though not perfect, it's one of my dearest memories! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and hearing all about you at the reunion!!!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
