Today's Featured Biography
Hilton Martin
Graduated from Colorado College in 1969, and entered the Army as a 2 Lt. in the Signal Corps. Underwent Airborne/Ranger training, as well as other schools; served three yeas in Germany. Completed four years of active duty with the 2/4 Infantry in Stuttgart with the rank of Captain. I returned to Denver in March, 1973 and Liz and I married in December, 1973.
I am beginning my 42nd year in property/casualty insurance. I am President of Peliton Insurance. We are a full-service insurance brokerage and risk management consulting firm.
I still play the piano, primarily to entertain friends. Three years ago, I recorded eight CDs of mood music, rock, jazz, inspirational, classical/show tunes, and holiday. The one original piece is one I composed in 1966 for Liz entitled "Elizabeth." I also enjoy playing keyboard in the "Big Otis Surf Club" band with Don Gray and Dennis Griffith.
I've served on the board of directors for Central City Opera for 25 years and I am on the board for Colorado Storm Youth Soccer. We have 7,000 kids playing soccer on the front range. I'm also a member of the Southeast Denver Rotary Club.
Liz and I indulge our golf obsession at Perry Park Country Club and every where from Napa, California to Hilton Head, South Carolina. We still ski at our place in Telluride, but my knees are telling me it's time to slow down. We enjoy travel and staying busy.
We have four wonderful kids - three married and one engaged - and five awesome grandchildren.
It's been a glorious ride so far through good times and bad, and I am a supremely lucky man.
