After graduation from South High I went to the University of Denver where I earned my B.A., then to Mexico City for one semester and to Freiburg, Germany (DAAD stipend) for one year, and back to D.U. to complete my M. A. I worked in adult education (ESL and German), coaching, and did translation work. Pius Marrer, a fellow student, and I got married in 1971. I earned my PhD in German language and literature at the university in Basel, Switzerland, which is where we live.
Now semi retired and enjoying life with my husband (of 40 years), my cats, and Chihuahua, I teach vision-impaired and blind adults English (ESL) and do occasional coaching and translation jobs, and I raise and exhibit Sphynx and Burmese cats (one of my Burmese just earned the title, "Best Swiss Cat" of 2010). I completed a series of classes in veterinary medicine in Baar, Switzerland and I have written articles about cats for various journals.
My other hobbies and interests include photography, nature, music, diverse crafts, computers, reading and discussing books.
I am grateful for all the things I learned at South High!
