Today's Featured Biography
Allison Hawkins Metcalf
After Bartlett, I got married and had 2 beautiful daughters, Lindsey (now 19) and Mallory (now 17). I divorced after 4 years,and began attending Memphis State. I later transferred to Ole Miss, all the while working as a cocktail waitress at various casinos to support myself. I married again in 1995 and had my precocious son Matthew (now 12 going on 30). I divorced after 4 years and went back to Ole Miss. I met my present husband, Todd and with his support, I finally finished my degree. I majored in English with a minor in Biology. For the last 3 years I have been teaching Chemistry, AP Biology and Anatomy, and I love it! My husband, Todd, and I have been married for 4 years now. He is a crew chief for a land-mapping (survey) company, and my hero. All of my kids are straight A students. My elder daughter is a mama's girl. She is a sophomore on full academic scholarship at Union University in Jackson. Mallory is a high school junior who runs cross-country, is always on homecoming court, and is always 100% sure that I'm wrong. My son Matt is in the 6th grade, makes straight A's, is always spearheading the mischief with his friends and thinks he's funny. (He's not always right, as the list of phone calls from unamused teachers is too long to mention.) Well, that's my life in a nutshell.
