Today's Featured Biography
David Gill
I'm best at starting up and running new businesses. I recently lined up a group of investors to purchace one of UNC's old basketball floors that was being replaced from Woollen Gymnasium. We are taking the flooring sections and framing them for resale.
Five months into that process, we just recieved our NCAA and UNC product approvals. Further, I'm very proud to say that I structured the deal to include a provision for the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. We will be donating a significant proportion of our gross sales to them. It takes seventy thousand dollars for Habitat to completly fund one new house. If we sell all of our product, it'll pay for a home.
I have a dumpster company which is doing well. We manufacture the dumpsters in-house. I actually designed them to be lightweight and run on rubber tires. Anyone that has ever done a remodeling project and had their driveway cracked or scratched understands the niche' this product is filling. The best thing about running a debris removal company is that I'll always be able to say that business is picking up.
In between those projects I accept contracts for various construction and remodeling jobs.I completed a contract, here in Raleigh on President Andrew Johnson's childhood home. We replaced the foundation, girders and siding. This past spring I spent time on Okracoke Island fulfilling a large contract. We helped remake the old Coast Gaurd Station into a State owned resort operated by the North Carolina Adancement of Teachers otherwise known as NCAT.
On a personal note I've never been married and don't have any children. For what's it's worth, it's not from a lack of trying. I was engaged once a long time ago, but she passed away in an automobile accident. I feel that eventually I will find the perfect woman me. Until then, I enjoy traveling, bike riding, working with the Jaycees and taking in the day by spending time outdoors. I'm currently looking forward on heading to Italy again this December. I'll be traveling;"open jaw", from Rome, down the Amalfi Coast to Sicily...I can't wait.
I have fond memories of my time at Dallastown. Looking back I think that I would have benefited from my experience if I had been more open to the opportunities that the school provided. I'm suddenly curious at how many others feel that way as well. That said, I'm still glad that I was able to cross as many of life's initial hurdles as I did in the relative seclusion of our School. I've grown to feel that the company we were offered were if nothing else, good role models.
Everyone, Take Care!

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
