Today's Featured Biography
Patricia Deardorff Myers
Grew up in Yoe. After graduation I worked for PA Manufacturers’ Assoc in York.
Married Barry Keckler (classmate - now deceased) & moved to Lubbock, Texas
where Barry attended Texas Technological University. I worked for Southwestern
Bell Telephone Co. Barry got drafted into Army (Special Forces).
While stationed at Ft Bragg, NC, I started working for Dept.of Defense, Ft. Bragg.
While stationed at Ft Campbell, Kentucky, I worked at Ft Campbell.
When Barry returned from Vietnam, we were stationed at Ft Devens, Mass. where
I worked for National Security Agency (NSA) which required a Top Secret (Crypto)
security clearance.
Lived in Tenn. & worked for Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL where I worked on the
Pershing Missile Project.
Returned home to PA & I worked in New Cumberland for Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)
under Dept of Defense. We were HQ for all military supply depots in the US & thru-out the world. We supplied all military services-Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard
whether stationed in US or in the war zone (Dessert Shield/Dessert Storm). I loved my job (can’t say what I did)-worked closely with Generals & Depot Commanders.
Married Carter Myers (classmate - Yoe boy) & lived in Yoe until we built our log home in
Dallastown. Carter retired as a long haul truck driver from Consolidated Freightways after 35 years of service. I retired a year later after 28 years of service for Dept of Defense.
Carter & I are now enjoying retirement in our log home with all God’s animals/creatures who
come to visit us. We loved 4 wonderful loving dogs who added so much joy to our lives. We enjoy spending time with our families & friends. God has richly blessed us. God Bless America!
