Today's Featured Biography
Shanna Dinneen Richards
After graduation, I had planned to attend art school and see the world. To my surprise, I fell head over heels in love with my prom date, lost any sense of reason and impulsively married him in August of 1984.
In the fall, I started classes at an Art Institute, but my husband had other plans; he joined the army! In July 1985, we welcomed our first child, and I joined my husband in Georgia. A couple years later, we moved to West Germany, where our second child was born in September of 1989. I loved living in Europe! We spent every opportunity traveling and exploring all the countries we could. The years we spent in Germany were some of the most educational and exciting years of my life. By 1990 my husband was ready to try civilian life again, and we returned home to the United States. Since then we have lived "happily ever after" watching our girls grow and enjoying every day that that we are blessed to have together. Along the way, I finished my college education. When my youngest daughter started school, I went back to work part-time as a Registered Dental Hygienist. I have worked in private practice, volunteered at the Area Rescue Mission, and I am an elected member of the Dental Hygiene Advisory Committee at my Alma Mater.
