Today's Featured Biography
Curt Potteiger
I'm a large educated artist and just finished adding Fine Arts to my degree in psychology from York College. I'm also a computer guy who's been a hobbyist since my first Apple II in 1982 and in the PC business since 1989. Jobs before my college education include building maintenance, road maintenance, teaching MR and MH clients janitorial skills, working in a factory making wood products, and being a mechanic for cigar box cellophane machines. With a ton of stuff thrown in to make me a jack-of-all-trades, I would fit the category of Renaissance man.
I paint my fingernails black and like goth, hippies and punk. I dress in black and own many monster, skull and dragon t-shirts. My hair is dyed black with bleached blond locks in the front and blood red ends on my long hair. I am fond of long hair and love it on others as well. I am overweight but carry it more distributed than many. People also don't believe my age thinking that I am younger than my years. Some say I look intimidating, but all that know me think I'm a teddy bear.
I collect many things. I have quite a few stuffed monkeys and apes and they must be cute or unique in character. I have board games and have been adding tin box or wood box versions to the collection. I love movies, especially horror and have excessive amounts of DVD movies (2000+) and certain TV shows (all the X-Files). I love Robert Crumb's art and comix and attempt to collect much of his work. His crosshatching work is amazing and I continue to strive for that level of pen & ink skills. I have many other underground works as well. It is one of the areas I would like to work in along with some children's illustration; Theodore Seuss Geisel was a big influence throughout childhood.
With that, you can see I'm a big art fan along with being an artist. I'm not big on non-objective art or minimalistic works. Hanging ropes or identical boxes on the wall do not make sense to me. I like pen & ink, sculpting, drawing, and scribbling stuff on paper. Art is where everyone thinks I should have been years ago but life is not always that direct.
Currently working on the house and prepping to begin professional illustration career. I added the Fine Arts major to my existing bachelor's degree in psychology last year and now applying to a graduate school for a Masters in Fine Arts program.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
