Today's Featured Biography
Ann Underwood Egan
After Dallastown, I headed south to Southern VA College and got a degree in journalism. Then it was off to Penn State for a degree in human resource management and finally, Rennselear for an MBA. What am I doing now?
I moved to CT in 1992. I have a wonderful 5 year old named Jack. He just started kindergarten at Rumsey Hall which is a private prep school. He is absolute joy!!!
My husband Tim is the love of my life. He is a builder, mostly colonial restorations and high end ($5 million plus) homes. You can see his work here: www.revolutionarybuilding.com.
We have a horse farm in Litchfield; see his web site...the 287 barn is ours. We have and show percherons- horses are my hobby. We had a successful year in 2008 in the show ring and already in early 2009, we have two promising fillies...North Point Miss Demeanor (DeeDee) and North Point Miss Elainious (Ellie). We are looking ahead to the World Percheron Congress in 2010.
Tim is also involved in show cattle, mostly steers. Northpoint Cattle Company is the name he shows under. This summer, Tim had the 2 steers to beat in New England so we had a blast going to the fairs and shows. The cattle don't live here however. We are involved as donors to the CT Jr. Republic which is a juvenille facility for troubled boys. They have an agriculture program which Tim works with as a volunteer and donates steers to. (No cattle in our beautiful barn!) Some of the stories of these kids are just heartbreaking!
As for me, I would bet that most of my classmates would not recognize me. I now weigh 135 pounds and am a size 6. Last year I competed for and won the title of Mrs. New Milford. I then went on to the Mrs. CT pageant, part of the Mrs. America pageant system, and placed in the top 5- as 4th runner up. (There are 106 towns and cities in CT so it was pretty good competition!) A "beauty queen" is the last thing that I am sure anyone at Dallastown would expect of me but it happened. I have since hung up my sash and crown...my best friends convinced me once to enter, but I am now retired.
I am not working unless you count being a wife and mother "working". Ask Jack what Mommy's job is and he is quick to reply, "shopping". I occasionally help Tim when he gets bogged down with paperwork. My plan was always to "marry well and never work" and I can honestly say that I have done that....and married my best friend and someone I admire and look up to as well...an added bonus! (Not to mention that he is gorgeous!!!)
We were in Greece and the Greek Islands this summer for 3 weeks....I did some scuba diving which is still a passion. (I am a certified underwater crime scene investigator - but don't dive with the team since I had Jack.) I also enjoy scrapbooking and riding horses, of course. Jack keeps me busy with his swimming and soccer. We also had a huge flower and vegtable garden this year. Watergardening is also a passion and Tim and I put in a new watergarden this spring.
I followed in my Moms footsteps and was elected last November to the local school board. (Something else my friends talked me in to! LOL!) Mom was on the school board at Dallastown for 19 years! Let me assure you that I will never make it that long!
I still get back to York occasionally, mostly at holiday time. My folks and my brother (Matt '85) are still there and doing well.
I can honestly say that I am living the life I have always wanted and dreamed of, with the man and child who make me so happy everyday, blissfully happy!
If anyone would like to contact me, please feel free to do so. Or stop by for a visit! My best wishes to all!

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
