Janna Sue Rankin 50, of Marshalltown, Iowa died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 8, at 5:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 3:00to 5:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorial may be directed to the family.The Family will have a private burial at a later date. For condolences please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Janna and her Family. Phone 641-844-1234.
Janna Sue Sebeniecher was born on June 23, 1960, to Dean and Maxine (Lyman) Sebeniecher in Guthrie Center, Iowa. She graduated from the Marshalltown High School with the class of 1979. Janna served our country honorably in the Iowa National Guard for 8 years. Janna married Christopher Rankin on May 8, 2004, at the Second Baptist Church in Marshalltown; they had lived in the Marshalltown area. Janna had been employed at Lennox Industries for 15 years retiring in 2009 due to her health. She was a member of the local UAW #893, UAW Veterans Committee, ABATE and Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Janna loved her family; she also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, motorcycle riding, gardening and her boxer dogs Rocky, Vixson and Sasha. Left to cherish Janna’s memory is her mother Maxine of Marshalltown, her husband Chris Rankin of Marshalltown, her children: Zane Dolash of Marshalltown and Sarah Dolash of Marshalltown, her step-children: Chris Rankin, Caitlyn Rankin and Nicholas Rankin all of Batavia, Iowa, her grandchildren: Kelcie Dolash, Ben White, and Noah and Caleb Jones; her sister Lynna Bratland of Marshalltown and niece, Holly Addy of Pennsylvania. In heaven she will rejoin her father Dean, a sister Melanie Addy and a niece Kamberlyn Addy.
