Today's Featured Biography
Richard Mueller
Laurie and I were in Marshalltown for 50th Rose Bowl Band Reunion in 2019. The Jug Band was called out of retirement for one last show. The crowd greeted the band with a warm reception and were generous with appreciation of our 1970's schtick. I had to relearn how to read music all over again... though some in the band may still think I never knew how in the first place! It was good to see some familiar faces and catch up with the boys in the band.
Laurie and I moved to Valparaiso, IN. in July 2020 after living in St. Charles, Il. for 30 years. The move was difficult leaving our home, church and friends of 30 years, but we knew we would eventually have to move to a more tax friendly state after I retired in November 2016. We sold our home on a Tuesday in late May 2020 and bought a home on Friday of that same week...all during the pandemic. We had targeted Valpo as our potential moving spot and had poked around looking at potential neighborhoods for about a year and a half, but never knew the neighborhood where we finally bought into even existed!. God provided our dream house as it hit the market on the day we sold and would have been snapped up by someone else if we hadn't got there on that Friday! God has been very gracious and good to us and we are so grateful!
We chose Valparaiso because it was between our kids and grandchildren with Chris and Ellen and their family of 3 children in Ann Arbor, MI. and Leslie and Rady and their son in the Chicago suburbs. Our new home has afforded us the opportunity to help Leslie and Rady through a rough patch financially and has given us the blessing of watching our 2 year old grandson, Isaiah grow up this past year.
So much has changed since our 40th as I am sure it has for you all. I have retired, we have moved, Leslie and Rady have been married for 5 years, Chris and Ellen will celebrate 10 years and we have 4 grandchildren. Grandchildren are the best as I'm sure you all can attest!
We love our new home, church, and hometown and are meeting new friends and neighbors.
We enjoy traveling, gardening, friends and work at the church.
Through all the ups and downs and challenges of life, we have grown to trust and rely on the One who said He is the Rock.
So much for our crew... we trust and pray you yours have all have weathered the pandemic and are healthy.
If you get our way, our door is always open.
Best wishes, Rich

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
