Today's Featured Biography
Rebecca Speake Higa
I graduated a year early in 1979, went to college, but wasn't too serious about it, came back to Hawaii and worked for various places, mainly Hawaii Pacific College (now U). Met and married Clayton Higa who was born/raised in Kalihi/Moilili area. I had Heidi Keala in 1985, Garrett (Buddy) in 1986 and Keoki in 1990. I have a beautiful new grandaughter, Samantha Keala Fiore, born Dec. 4, 2005 by my daughter, Heidi who works for my sister's EMS business in New Lexington, OH. My husband works in California and commutes to our current home in Somerset where I run on the Somerset-Reading Twp. EMT service. After getting married, I completed my degree in Health Administration from U of Hawaii in 1992, while my husband was a Helicopter mechanic at Wheeler Army Airbase and we lived at Helemano. Then when my husbands Army tour was over after Dessert storm, we relocated to Medford, then McMinnville, Oregon, where I both ran my own in-home office business and worked as Parish Secretary for St. Barnabas Episcopal church. We've lived in Somerset, Ohio in Perry County just under two years where most of my family also resides. My son, Garrett is an honors student at Hiram College pursuing law, my youngest son, a junior at Sheridan High School and an honors student. I miss Hawaii a lot and we're coming there in August, 2006 for my husband's family reunion. I graduated a year early in 1979, but 1980 is my class since I came to Hawaii in 1st grade when I attended Lanikai Elementary, then Kailua mission shool for middle school. I've had the pleasure of traveling the whole U.S, except the southern portion as well as many trips back to Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, France and England. I'm anxious to do more traveling when my baby bird is out of the nest in 2008.
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone else who registers and I may even fly back for a 30th reunion. I've never been to one of them, but now with my kids almost raised, I have oodles of time in comparison.
Much Aloha to all,
Rebecca

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
