Today's Featured Biography
Ronald Fial
Hello all. After K.H.S. stayed at UH for a long time (BA,MA,PhD). Kathy and I have been been married 40 yrs. While I was in grad. school Kathy was the personnel manager for the Army's Pacific Exchange Hq., and we lived at Queen Emma Gardens. We moved to Oregon in '70, where I taught at Reed College for 4-yrs, then did lab research 4-years. When microprocessors arrived we started Fial Incorporated, which designs/builds alarm/remote-control equip. for microwave, cellular & utilities companies.
Our two kids work in the business. Leslie (36) is a project manager, and Scott (33) is our lead-programmer, both are Univ. of Oregon grads. Scott (married to Tamsyn) has a granddaughter, Emily (11 yrs).
Kathy and I like to travel, have been all over Asia and Europe. We also like to fly on our own, and have a small plane hanagered at Aurora. And I still like to do photography and amateur radio (KO7V ex. KH6HDX).
We go to Oahu to see relatives often (actually we go directly to Liliha Bakery first for long-johns). My brother Terry still lives above Pearl City. My sister Sheila lives in Franklin, Tenn., youngest sister Dianna lives in Carlsbad, CA.
Portland, OR is pretty town and only one hour from the mountains for skiing and hiking, and about one hour from the coast. Kathy likes the forest and we have a cabin in the mountains were we spend many weekends.
We have done five luaus in Portland (two in the back yard), 150-lb pig, with ti leaves, banana leaves and orchids from Honolulu. The clay soil makes a real good imu. But nowdays you can get ono kau-kau at Noho's and Bamboo Grill in Portland or Maui Camp 3 in Oregon City.
Aloha kâkou and Mahalo, Ron (Ronnie) Fial

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
