Mr. Lee currently serves as the Healthy Start Training Program Manager for The Institute For Family Enrichment (TIFFE). He has held the position since February when he concluded a ten-year career as a trainer and program manager with Pacific Resources for Education and Learning, and an eight-year career as a trainer and consultant with Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory.
As Healthy Start Training Program Administrator, Mr. Lee provides technical assistance, training, and dissemination of current research. His subject matter expertise includes alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD) prevention, HIV/AIDS and violence prevention, stages of child development, and clinical experience working with families.
In addition, Mr. Lee has successfully managed grants in excess of $100,000 annually and worked with multiple teams of health educators, health care professionals, administrators, parents, and students.
In the last eighteen-years, Mr. Lee has conducted numerous customized workshops tailored for the clients, facilitated planning meetings, conducted TRIBES training for public health workers, and provided Micronesian awareness sessions for various Hawaii governmental departments. In addition, he has worked with various programs with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) such as HIV/AIDS project, tobacco initiative, and minority health policy staff.
He was awarded a House Resolution from the Twelfth Northern Marianas Commonwealth Legislature for his outstanding educational seminars that have taught leadership skills to students, teachers, and parents. His publications include The Health Effects of Kava/Sakau and Betel Nut, 1990. Asian-American/Pacific Islander Resource Guide: Suicide, the Hidden Problem, 1993, and numerous articles in several agency newsletters.
