50 Year Reunion Announcement!

Friday,  August  7,  2020

Hello everyone,

Itís been a while since Iíve bugged you all and thank goodness, this is about fun things for a nice change!!! The dates have been chosen for our 50th class reunion and I wanted to share a few other things with you about that today as well. The committee will be working on the details over the next several months and hope to have everything nailed down so we can send out printed invitations by early November.

We have thirteen members on the Reunion Committee so far and anyone that would like to pitch in and help, please let me know. Your Committee members to date are Paul Rhodes, Michelle Salveson Starkey, Bruce Nichols, Nancy Clizbe Johnson, Rick Umbach, Rena Hall Geist, Steve Sayler, Jeri Maben, Ruth Sisk, Kim Cronin, Karen Bartram Wikholm, and Judy Hawley and lil olí me.

The dates will be August 7, 8, and 9, 2020 and on the night of Saturday the 8th, we have scheduled a joint dinner/dance with Kelly Walsh at the Ramkota Inn and have gotten a confirmed rate of $97 per night for hotel rooms there. If your contact info has changed, please get it to me ASAP so I can update the files and assure that you will receive all of the needed updates as plans are finalized. This will also save us a lot of money from returned snail mail invitations with wrong mailing addresses.

It may be November before you hear from us again but it would be nice to be able to make any changes beforehand if possible. Please go to www.classreport.org to our Class site and check your info in there as well as update your biography info in there as that is the info that will be used for the Memory Book. If you need assistance with this, just send me your info and I will update it for you. Our Class originally had 630 people in it with 533 now located, 24 missing, and 73 deceased. I only have email addresses for 212. So again, please, if you are in contact with a fellow classmate, please ask them if they are registered on our Class site in there and if they donít want to do that, ask them to at least please send me their email address at [email protected] Sure appreciate it!

We should all be ready for this reunion, considering it will be a very contentious election year. I plan to leave politics at home and travel back to a time 50 years ago when our only problems were Nixon and Viet Nam!? I guess things havenít chnaged that much after all. At the age we are getting, this might be the last time we see each other for some time, or at all. Letís make it a wonderful reunion and look back on all of our years together.

Out of all Classes, we have about the smallest list of missing students [24]. I would really appreciate it if you would all look the list below over, and let me know if you know the whereabouts of anyone listed. There are a few people on this list that I know do not want to be found. I keep hoping that they might eventually change their minds so I leave them on there.

We sure hope you can all make it. We have no idea what kind of shenanigans we will come up with but rest assured, it will be wonderful fun!!! We will keep you all posted as things come together but as I stated, it might be quite a while before we get into the nitty gritty of it all. Please share your thoughts on the reunion with us. We are just getting ramped up and are open to suggestions regarding activities like, should we have a golf tournament? Where to have the Friday night cocktail party? Where should we have our Sunday picnic (Casper Mountain, Ednes Kimball Wilking State Park, Washington Park)? We will certainly be having a Saturday tour of NCHS as they have spent a ton of money remodeling it.

Donít forget to look over the list below!!

Toodles for now!`

Simone
