I joined the Navy Straight out of High School in 75. I was looking for adventure and didn't look back toward home for about 14 years. I couldn't help myself. Adventure is truly addictive.
In the Navy I became a Photographer. This led me to world travel and meeting my husband, Jerry Stone, who I was married to for 9 years. During my time in the Navy, I became a Motion Picture Camera Person and eventually this led me to be chosen for the White House Audiovisual Unit. This group recorded the daily activities of the President of the United States.
I divorced in 1985 and I retired from the Navy in 1995. A great career. After the Navy I was hired as a part of the first studio crew for Chris Matthew's Hardball. Then to ABC News in DC, where I shot for World News Tonight, Good Morning America, and Nightline.
Frankly, I just got plain burnt out and quit. My son had become a teenager and was in danger of becoming very high risk. So, I brought Shane home to the only safe place I knew and sat on him while he finished school in Bremerton. He bloomed under the care of teachers like Mr Dick and Mr Olsen who were still ticking like a timex.
I will always be greatful to these fine people for taking my son under their wing! But folks, I coudn't get a job that paid me properly. AND so, long story short, after Shane graduated from Bremerton High School and was off to join the Navy too, I applied and was accepted to the Culinary Institute of Americaa in NY in 2002.
I slipped into the field of Private Chef and here I am in Michigan. Cooking away for a very well off person and contemplating a book....I enjoy Michigan. A very pleasant surprise after thinking that the Midwest was to snowy...I should have worried.
I miss the mountains of home, but I just can't find a position there. Not very many private chef/house managers.
**Side note** For anyone who reads this bio. Before Mr Dick retired, he told me that our graduating class will always be remembered fondly by him. "We were the only class that overlooked his Turrets Syndrome, treated him with respect and as a human being". He said, he never had the same treatment from any other class.
And last but not least. I have always thought sweet thoughts of our class. even though I was a transplant from Central Kitsap in my junior year, you treated me as though I had always been a part of you. The two classes together, 74 and 75 were a rare and magical time and "You" made that happen for me. Thank You.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
