Hmmmm......how to sum up the last 32 years in a few short paragraphs?? Ok, here are the basics.........
Right after High School, I moved out with Michelle Durdahl and Terri Hurm. We paid $200 a month for a cute house on Pacific Avenue. I met a guy from Seattle that same year, wound up moving there and getting married in 78. That lasted a few years. I've lived over here ever since. I have 2 beautiful daughters.....Emilie, 18 and Kennedy 7. (I had a really bad case of "baby-itis" when I hit 40 and she was born right before I turned 43. Most of the time, she is pure joy, but every once in awhile it's like "OMG! What was I thinking??" Most of the time......I feel like the luckiest girl in the world:-)
I've had a few different jobs over the past 30 years. I worked at JCPenney Portrait Studio for 10 years, eventually becoming a District Manager. I decided I needed a change and started a company that hosted Lip Synch and Karaoke contests in different clubs all around the Seattle area. That was so much FUN! In 1993, I started the company I have now.....hosting little girls pageants all over the country. It's pretty much a dream job. I get to work from home and travel to really cool places with a group of people that I love. (BTW......It's not a "creepy" pageant. The girls don't wear makeup or fake hair, ect. It's very sweet:-)
I have been blessed in so many ways. I try to never lose sight of that. High School was not a real happy time in my life. I know it's easy for some people, but it sure wasn't for me! I think I kind of came into my own when I entered the work force and found some things that I was really good at. I was never a good student and unfortunately, didn't even begin to understand the importance of education back then. I still love taking pictures and have taken some wonderful shots of my girls over the years that I will post on here someday, if I ever figure out how!
I've been happily single for most of my adult life. I am so independent and set in my ways that I can't imagine ever getting married again, but never say never! I'm very happy now........being a mom and running a business keeps me busy. I decided I needed to put a little more effort into my love life, so I signed up for "match.com" awhile back. (Screen name....Carolinakiss) Haven't found my perfect match yet (if there really is such a thing), but I've been dating alot more and it's been interesting, to say the least.
It was wonderful to see everyone at the mini reunion in '07. and hear their stories. It's weird to be so old! I wish I knew back in 1975 what I know now...... It would have been so much easier!
I am so thankful that Laura found me on classmates and has put so much hard work into this site. I look forward to seeing everyone again next year:-)
