Fifty years.....hard to believe!!
After high school graduation, a group of us attended Washington State University. We had many great times and have many fond memories. I met and married my husband, John in 1967. After graduating in 1968, we moved to Tucson, AZ, which was a real culture shock. The desert does however "grow on you" and we continue to live in Tucson during the winter months.
I went to graduate school at Arizona State University and obtained a Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) in 1977. I have enjoyed a career in social services, child protective services, being a mental health therapist, specializing in children and families, being a supervisor, manager and director. The last six years of my career were with the Division of Development Disabilities, where I retired in July 2011.
We have two terrific daughters, Carrie(41) who lives in Oakland, CA and works as a consultant in San Francisco. Jamie (39) lives with her husband, Ray in Oceanside, CA. We have 2 granddaughters, Ayla and Lilly.
I continue to enjoy bike riding, gardening, classes at the gym (3-5 times a week), fishing, swimming, snorkeling, playing games with friends, traveling, downhill skiing, reading and special projects. Retirement is great!! We have expanded and remodeled the beach house on the south shore of Hood Canal, which belonged to my grandparents (Art and Maude Bright) and then my father, Karl Vatne, who passed away in 2010, weeks before his 93rd birthday. We feel so fortunate to have such a lovely beach home, where we spend summers and the family can enjoy.
In 2016 we moved to Oceanside, CA where we live in the winters. We live about a mile away from our daughter, husband and 2 granddaughters.( ages 4.5 yrs and 2 months). It’s so important to be part of their lives and care. Life is good!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
