61 Year Reunion Announcement!

EHS Class of 1964 Luncheon

Monday,  October  6,  2025  -  12:00 pm

Garage Bar & Grill, 6812 Kitsap Way, Bremerton, Wa 98312

Your own drinks & food

We had a lovely gathering at Paul & Pauletta Adamski's in August. Thanks to them for hosting our luncheon. Our next luncheon will be held at the Garage Bar & Grill up the hill by the Kitsap Drive In. The food & service were really good, especially considering that we "dropped in" on them due to a power outage along Kitsap Way that included the Family Pancake House. Bring your appetite.

The last class luncheon for 2025 will be on 1 December & will also be held at the Garage Bar & Grill.

It's been a crazy busy year. Looking forward to seeing all of you soon.

Joi Gardner Raihala

The following is catch up for those who I haven't had a chance to see in a long time.

Curt and I married right out of college; he went into officers training and we entered into the Air Force for the next four years. During that time he was sent overseas and I remained home to have our first child. He met our son for the first time when he was over a year old. I have much compassion for our military families who go through this regularly. We added to our family with a girl (middle child she runs the family) and another son.

Over the next ten years we traveled due to Curt's work and moved on the average of once every six months. When we were fortunate enough to be moved back to the Pacific Northwest we said we would never leave this part of the country again. We knew we were in Gods country! We settled into Gresham, Oregon for the next 28 years, raised our children and both have our work careers.

Curt settled into real estate in 2005 and we moved into our dream home in Camas, Washington overlooking the Columbia River and the gorge. We simply loved living there. Our children all lived around us with four grandchildren to lavish with love upon.

Living there gave us access to all the things we loved in the outdoors. We were equally close to the ocean, mountains and central Oregon. We liked to bike, hike, canoe, play tennis, golf. We enjoyed being around all the beauty that part of the world provides in abundance. However, as we get older we had to narrow some of our activities but push as much into every day as we can.

In 2017 we both decided to retire and move to Surprise, Az. It offered continual sunshine which is something the Northwest did not. Curt had rheumatoid arthritis and the dry heat offered much needed relief for that condition. However, within two years of moving, Curt's body began to betray him and he developed congestive heart failure and advanced neuropathy and eventually kidney failure as well. My beloved husband died very suddenly on April 14th. No pain - he simply passed into heaven to be with his Father in heaven.

It will be extremely hard to move on without my partner in life, but we lived a full life together having met in high school and adventuring throughout all the many years since.
