Moved to Alaska in 1978 to strengthen our church. Divorced 1986.
Started work at Providence extended care, a nursing home as a Certified Nursing assistant 1985.Became a Health Unit Coordinator in 1990 at the same place.
Went to school in Human Services.Started a support group with the Women's resource Center for Women with PMS. That was very exciting. Working on a volunteer program with Hospice. I love working with death and dying.
I have a foster daughter. Emily. She lived with me for 5 years. She now is married and I have two grandchildren by her I spend time with my eight grandchildren.
Married the love of my life Bob on 9/11/99. I have helped raise his son Bobby is persuing a degree in computer science.
My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease two months after we married. He is now still working but is getting worse by the day.
I have many kids that call me mom. IT is a lot of fun. I work in my church here. We have started a mission in Palmer and there are 30 members. 1/3rd of them are my family. 1/2 are children ages infant to 11. We have supported the women's resource center for two years. We give them Christmas and Easter. We make sure that there are enough gifts so that all of the children can pick something for mom and dad and wrapping paper to wrap. We have given many bicycles. When there is a crisis there, we get a call with ages of kids and sizes. We always add a toy or stuffed animal as well as clothing and what ever is needed. It is fun to see the faces of children who haven't know too much happiness.
I hate Alaska but my husband was born here and my children refuse to leave. So I am here for the duration.
I have been in a support group for the past 12 months for losing weight and I have lost 85 pounds. Hope to get to the next reunion. Was sorry that I couldn't come to 30. My brother was there though.
My youngest, Katie is trying to get through the 7th grade.
It is very cold in Alaska at this time of year. But it is fun to ski, snow mobile and make snowmen. I would still rather be in Missouri with my mom and my brother.
