1/10/2016 Reunion Funds-Centurians
Ironically as I am writing this, the movie The Big Chill is on in the background bringing back great music memories. The Class of 1970 has a dab of money left over since the 40th reunion.

Many people in the ‘70 class won’t remember me. I was the quiet, painfully shy geek with black-rimmed glasses.
After graduation, I joined the Navy after a short attempt at a draft deferment when Viet Nam looked to be in my immediate future. I became a hospital corpsman. I was stationed on bases in California for a year and a half. I was assigned to the hospital ship; USS Sanctuary (AH-17) until it decommissioned in Philadelphia. We made several cruises to places like Columbia, South America, Haiti, Nassau and Wilmington, North Carolina. After returning to civilian life, I became a paramedic (held license for 18 years) and volunteered for a local fire department. They hired me in ‘79 and I worked my way up to Chief of Department. I've been to many schools and colleges, including the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy. I retired from the fire department in 2013 after 34 years of service.
I have been married twice. I have two sons from the first marriage. Both are in the Army. My oldest has two children. I have two sets of twins from my second marriage. Met my current wife working a second part time/full time job as a paramedic with Gold Cross Ambulance. She owned the company. She couldn’t date her employees. So, she fired me and I asked her to marry me. My life is full of joy. I love my family. I love my job.
I attended Central Missouri State College prior to military enlistment. After the Navy, I picked up my Associates in Fire Science at Penn Valley. I attended a year and a half at University of Missouri at Kansas City, working towards a degree in Public Administration, had to put it on hold to attend the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Md. I plan on finishing the degree soon with hopes of going for a Master's degree before I retire. Looking to become a City manager after finishing with the fire department. Attended a lot of specialized training around the country for fire service use.
So, I have been over compensating my shyness since I left High School. It paid off in my job and my personal life. I have no regrets other than I wish that I had made more friends and kept in touch along the way.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
