Today's Featured Biography
Bruce Hodge
After graduation, I joined the US Navy along with Jim Shannon, Maynard Knapp and Fred Shannon. After serving 24 years on various submarines home ported in Key West FL, New London CT, and Norfolk VA, I retired in Virginia.
I then went to work for Sperry Univac in their Virginia Beach field office. After three years there I was asked to move to Minnesota to manage a submarine periscope project. What we thought would be a 3-4 year stay in Minnesota has turned into a 24 year stay. The company name has changed from Sperry Univac, to Sperry, to Unisys, to Paramax, back to Unisys, to Loral, to Martin Marietta, and finally Lockheed Martin. However, I parked in the same parking lot every work day. Ah, the wonders of hostile take-over's, mergers, and acquisitions!
After 24 years, we have decided we like it here and plan to stay after I retire. (Whenever that is.) Current projects here include a heated woodworking shop for me and a huge deck for entertaining. Which will make a fine place for the bulldogs to lie in the sun. We have two English Bulldogs, Mack and Moses (The Hodgenators), who pretty much run everything here.
