Today's Featured Biography
Robert Carver
After graduating from GHS, I went on to NH Technical Institute in Manchester, NH with Addie and Ralph, taking the Building Trades 2 year course. During these two years I met my wife to be, Yvette Cloutier, who was originally from Orleans, VT. After graduating I stayed in Manchester, working in the building trades. After 1961 I started my own construction company with a partner. Six years later dissolved partnership and had my own building construction company. 1976 dissolved business and went to Merrimack, NH as a town building inspector and 6 months later took over the department as Building Official/Health Officer. Left this postion to move to Florida where I attained a Florida Building Contractors license and qualified Mayo Builders and Developers, Inc. that is still active. I also became Building Official for the County of Sumter, Florida, a very busy department. At the time of my retirement in 2002 we had one builder completing 300-350 homes a month.
Married Yvette, April 12, 1958 and we lived in the Manchester area, (Mancheser, Pinardville, [We learned tht this town was named after a relative of Yvette's father] and Bedford {2 locations}.) October 1984, Yvette and I sold everything except for our camp at Sandy Beach, Contoocook, NH and moved to Florida living in 5 locations all in the West Central Floorida area. We sure love the weather and the community we live in now and have no thoughts of relocating again.
We had three children, Kim Ann born May 17, 1959. Christopher Oct 6, 1961 (deceased) and Randall Sept. 5, 1964. Kim and Randy both live with their families in Manchester, NH.
Four grandchildren. Kim has two boys, Chris and Jeff, now 26 and 24. Chris has a son, our great-grandson, Noah, age 7. Randy and his wife Melissa have a boy and a girl, William 8 and Meredith 5.
Hobbies/pastimes: spending all my days with my wife. We are married 47 1/2 years and most of that I was busy working, etc., gone a lot. Now we enjoy each other.
Favorite teachers: Roger Bergeron and Hollis Sawyer, Both men took great pains in helping me decide my direction in life.
Funniest classroom experience at GHS: being thrown out of Mr. Morin's class because I sneezed while he was talking.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
