Today's Featured Biography
William Spilker
After graduating from U. of Texas at Austin I attended Baylor College of Medicine for my MD and did a four year residency in Ob/Gyn, becoming board certified subsequently. Practiced for many years in Harlingen, Texas, near the border with Mexico in far south Texas. I had studied during college in Mexico and Peru, and speaking Spanish well was a big help in my work. My wife, Vicky, who has a Master's Degree in Councelling, and I are both retired. We live in a rural area with a home on Lake Fork in NE Texas. We have four dogs, all rescues, and an astounding variety of wildlife on our 7 acre property that is a certified wildlife habitat by the state and federal governments. Our daughter and two grandsons live in the Atlanta area, and our son and his wife in Raleigh, NC. He has his ME in mechanical engineering and is the director of the research and development laboratory of a large multi-national corporation. We travel a lot, having visited six of the seven continents (Australia is still on our bucket list), and in my spare time I enjoy bowling, working outdoors, reading, playing a little poker, and Sudoku. Have been blessed with good health thus far, and considering that both of my parents lived into their 90's, am hoping I have several more good years left in me.
