Today's Featured Biography
Garth Jensen
1948-1957 Salt Lake City, Utah
1957-1959 Roland Park, Kansas
1959-1966 Overland Park, Kansas
1966-1967 St. George, Utah
Mid 1967 to early 1969 14 different cities and towns throughout California and Arizona.
In August 1969 I was drafted but the Coast Guard selected me before the Army could get their fingers on me.
October of 1969 I got married to my wife of 46 years Paula Woodruff.
In 1973 I chose to leave the Coast Guard and return to schooling St. George, Utah. I also worked for the Dept. of the Interior.
Early 1974 a move to Flagstaff, Arizona to attend Northern Arizona University and working for the US Geological Survey.
1975 offered a job in mine safety and research at the Deer Creek Coal Mine. The job wasn't bad but the 180 mile trip to work and the weekly motels got very old, very fast.
My next adventure was with Wyoming Mineral Corp, Safety Officer in the production of Uranium Oxide in Bingham Canyon, Utah. Mine closure left me looking for work. This time to Farmington, New Mexico as a Plant Operator at a coal-fired power plant. A serious accident with serious burns put me me out of work and then came a strike and zero work.
Our next adventure took us to the Navajo Reservation for four years operating a full fledged Trading Post. Two years at Pueblo Pintado where our nearest neighbor was twelve miles from us and the nearest school, doctor and church was fifty miles, while the closest hospital, restaurant and grocery store was eighty miles by way of a washboard dirt road that became impassible in wet weather. We next moved to the much larger Trading Post in the thriving community of Pinon, AZ that maintained a population of 100. Three hours away was our shopping hub of Flagstaff, AZ. Once every couple of months we would travel into town for some shopping and lunch.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
