Today's Featured Biography
Sherri Rogers Wohlgemuth
After leaving high school I went to David Lipscomb College in Nashville, Tennessee. I graduated in 1980 with a double major in English Literature and Psychology. I ended up working as an Executive Recruiter for a few years, then started my own business in 1988. This did not last long since my husaband took a job with American Airlines and we moved to Owasso, Oklahoma (a suburb of Tulsa)in August of 1988.
I did not work for a few years after moving here, then I began working for the YMCA, where I ended up working for about 10 years as a Certified Personal Trainer and exercise instructor certified to teach everything from water aerobics to kickboxing to spinning.
My husband retired from American in 2007 and I left the "Y' (mostly) in 2008. I still work there on a part time basis as a sub for various classes.
On a personal level, I married my husband, Greg in 1981 and we will be celebrating our 30th anniversary this October. We have no children, but have had countless numbers of cats over the years. Right now, we have six, and adore them all!
We are active in our church, the Stone Canyon Church of Christ, and I am in a stitching club, a card group, and a book club.
We like to travel, and with the flight benefits we have through American Airlines, we have done quite a lot of it!
I get back to Logansport 2-3 times a year. My mother, my oldest brother and his family, and my youngest brother still live there. I lost my father almost three years ago.
It's such a small world...I discovered earlier this week that a woman who comes to some of my classes at the "Y" is from Logansport, too. Our brothers went to LHS at the same time. We have lots to talk about now, and since she is also retired from American Airlines, we will be travelling back to Logan together frequently!
This got me to thinking about my years at LHS.I've often wondered what's happened with some of my old high school buddies, but didn't know about this site until my brother told me the other day.
Any of you out there who remember me and would like to chat, send me an email. Maybe we could link up on one of my visits home!
