Today's Featured Biography
Ted Bishop
Graduated from Purdue in 1976 with a degree in Agronomy/Turf Management. First job was at the Phil Harris GC in Linton, IN. Was there from 1976 until 1992.
Moved to Franklin, IN in 1992. Built The Legends Golf Club and have been here ever since. Inducted into the Indiana Golf Hall of Fame in 2013.
Been married to Cindy since 1976. We have two daughters, Ashely (33) and Ambry (29). Ashely and her husband, Ted, have given us our granchildren: Reid Bishop Davidson (5) and Remy Laine Davidson (1). Great son-in-law, love the guy!
Ashely lives in Franklin and Ambry lives in Rye, NY. Both girls played college golf. Ashely at Kansas. Ambry at Indiana. Ashely works at The Legends. Ambry is an assistant pro and head women's golf coach St. John's University NYC. Both are the highlights of my life! They have given me many great memories and both serve as a great inspiration to me. Kids motivating parents...... nice role reversal.
In 2013-14, I served as the 38th President of the PGA of America, the largest working sports organization in the world with its 27,000 members and apprentices. It was an honor to attend three Ryder Cups, six PGA Championships, Masters and US Opens in my time as an Officer.
In 2016, Classics of Golf Publishing released my book "Unfriended- The Power Brokers, Political Correctness and Hypocrisy in Golf." The book became #1 Best Seller among Amazon's Golf Books.
My dad, Jim, cut many heads of hair over the years and he taught me many things. He died in 2005. My mom, Marge, a former LHS teacher is 90 and still lives in Logansport.
I was honored to be inducted into the LHS Hall of Distinction in 2011 and spoke to the graduating class at LHS during Cemmncement. That was one of the coolest things I have ever done!
My message was simple and direct. "When you leave this gym today, you may go years before you see some of your fellow graduates. Look to your left. Look to your right. These are people you can count on for the rest of your life."
One thing is for sure........ I always have been.......and always will be.... a Berry at heart!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
