Brian Beall

I am a Forester and Wildland Firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service based in Alaska. I also worked for the Fish & Wildlife Service, Dept. of Natural Resources, Indiana. I attended Oregon State University in the late 80's. I retired from the Forest Service here in Alaska in 2009. I have worked on many of the great National Forests and Parks of the West and Alaska, and I have fought many wildfires in Montana, California, Alaska, Oregon and Washington to name a few. What do I do these days? Well, I built, own and operate 2 Wilderness Guest Lodges. One is in Alaska, and one is on the Oregon Coast and I'm glad to say, many of my class mates have visited. I have a wonderful and beautiful wife who I cherish dearly. Julie and I were married on the Central Bridge in Paris, France many years ago and she changed my life forever. Julie is a born and raised Alaskan and she is a real " chip off the old block". My life would be very empty without her. She enhances and enriches my life on a daily basis and I'm a better man because of it. We have one son David, who is 15 and he has made me proud in nearly every way for which I'm very grateful. We, as a family love to hike, camp, fish, and especially run! Julie and I have run many Marathons, some of which include Athens, Paris, Venice and Death Valley. We have also run many Half Marathons and 5 & 10k's. I had my day as runner over the years but those are only distant memories now. I only run for fun now, and because I still can. Julie and I have always tried to lead a natural and healthy life style as we are both vegitarian (but we eat a lot of Sea Food because we live on the Pacific) and because we are both health nuts we are always looking for new ways to improve are lives, we'll see. Julie and I still travel a lot and I'm thankful to say that we have experienced many places around the world. One of our greatest memories where of the Olympic Games in London in 2012. So there you have it. I have been blessed with many experiences, but I have never given up my Indiana roots, nor have I forgotten from where I have come from. May Grace, Dignity, and especially Peace be upon you and within you.
