Today's Featured Biography
Charles Chell
After graduating from Ball State in 1978, I moved to Florida and had a "trial" marriage that lasted from 9/78 to 10/83. In September of 1988 I left Florida for Minnesota and eventually married the love of my life in October of 1991. On February 19, 1993 my wife, Jan, brought Cooper into the world and the three of us have been happy ever since. After years in finance and banking, culminating with the position of Vice President of Consumer Lending at Marquette Bank in Minneapolis, and a foray into professional umpiring, I changed fields and became a teacher in the St. Louis Park school district at the high school. I continue to play, coach, and umpire baseball while Cooper is a varsity swimmer and Jan also teaches. Looking forward to getting back together with old classmates. Oh, by the way, all the hair in that picture above is long gone, the spine has been fused (twice), a hip has been resurfaced, and the appendix has ruptured.
8/23/11- We're taking Cooper to University of Wisconsin in Madison on Monday for his freshman year. Its going to be a rough transition, both at home and at my job at the high school. Cooper has been with me in the building for the past four years, eating lunch together occasionally, commuting together. Now he's at UW and I'm stuck with all these kids I don't really like.
12/2/12- I'm no longer stuck with those kids. I retired from teaching this past August. I bought a van and am driving for a living. I still liked the teaching, but the paperwork of the job became too much. Now when I come home in the evening I am done with work. No paperwork, no IEPs, no evaluations.
7/10/15- My driving career is going well, reaching 250,000 miles on my 2012 Ford Transit. Still running great, hope to get to 350,000 before getting another. Cooper graduated from UW-Madison and is back home deciding what he wants to do. Jan retired from her teaching position and immediately took another with no paperwork. Once Cooper decides his career path and then moves we plan on selling our house and following, not too close. Hopefully he settles in a warmer climate.
4/27/22- Fully retired from gainful employment in June, 2020. Have been traveling throughout North America in our 2020 Airstream 27’ Globetrotter.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
