Today's Featured Biography
Lois Lucy Moore
I graduated from IU-K in 1976 (yes, it took me 9 years to earn a BA in English, suitable for framing). I moved to Detroit in 1979 after my mother died. There I worked in technology training, traveling all over the United States. It was fun traveling to major US cities on the company dime, but after I spent 30 weeks on the road in 1985, I chose to stop traveling in 1986 and got a job in New York City, a city I love for its theatre, opera, and museums. I lived and worked there for 30 years, mostly for large financial institutions, working in training, as well as project planning, implementation, and project administration.
I can't say I enjoyed the work, always felt like a square peg in a round hole in the corporate world. Began a career change to librarian in 2005 after 35 years in business. Earned a masters degree in Library Science from Queens College in May, 2008. Retired in July 2016 from the Mid-Manhattan branch of the New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue (loved it, finally found a place where I fit).
Then I bought a house and moved to Beaufort, SC (a town even smaller than Logansport but with no snow and lots of palmettos and Spanish moss). I spend my time reading the books I never had a chance to read, streaming movies, TV shows, and music, and planting flowers in my yard. I'm trying to learn to cook, now that's a challenge.
I must admit I like retirement. I enjoy every day. Looking forward to whatever adventure I want to try next.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
