Today's Featured Biography
Marjorie Shoemaker Yergen
Yes, I am still teaching! Will start year 36 this August. As long as I can still wear our junior high kids and Dan keeps farming, I will keep teaching (although it isn't as easy as it used to be).
Our daughter Heather was married May 26, 2013 at Echo Falls Golf Club. She and the love of her life Edmund Osipowicz met in Philadelphia. They now live in Las Vegas, so we have a free place to stay...yipee! Heather is a Family Services Coordinator in Organ and Tissue Transplant. Very demanding and at time heart-wrenching job.
Daughter Amy will be married August 17, 2013 in Pullman at Banyons Golf Club. Amy is a 'good Coug' so will travel there from Clarkston for her wedding. Amy is the Direcotr of Sales for Quality Inn in Clarkston, right on the Snake River. The upper Snake River jet boat tours leave in front of her property. It is beautiful there. She coordinates all of the conferences and weddings there, so if you have an event-Amy is the one to call. She and her fiance' Aaron have been dating for 8 1/2 years. Amy promissed Heather she would not marry first, and she kept her promise (rare these days).
I continue to work with the State on co-coordinating the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching; Science Assessment; and Science Standards. I take a group of students to Florida every year to study environmental science, including kayaking mangrove forests, doing water quality testing, swimming with dolphins or mamatees and visiting turtle or shark re-hab facilities. Lots of fun! I have just completed 2 years as President Elect, and 3 years as President of the Washingotn Science Teachers Association, and am currently the Past President. Just before our reunion I will have spent 5 days in Puerto Rico at the National Congress on Science Education...i love to travel and science education has given me many opportunities.
Dan and I just celebrated our 35th anniversary with a flight to Philadelphia and and a drive home from Southern Delaware as he purchased a car and we had to go pick it up. Dan referred to this as 'our anniversary cruise'. Not exactly what I had in mind, but beautiful scenery anyway.
Can't wait to see those of you who haven't been able to make it to our gatherings and those of you who have. This should be GREAT FUN!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
