Today's Featured Biography
Debra Womac
After high school, married and went to OC for a while. Had five children (Janet, Jolie, Heidi, Mark, and Quinn) and divorced in 1983. Remarried in 1987 and moved to Wenatchee for three years where I had Timothy and attended the local college for a few terms. Moved back to Bremerton in 1994 and had Tiffany. Attended OC again for a quarter but it was very hard on the children, so stopped after one term. Moved to Mount Vernon in 2000, finished my AA at Skagit Valley College in Dec. 2007 and graduated from WSU with honors in Dec. 2009 (Psychology and Human Development).
In the process, my oldest graduated from high school in Wenatchee and attended WSU; the next two daughters graduated from a home school program with the older of the two finishing her medical assistant degree in June 2014; my oldest son graduated from Bremerton High (1999) and is now working on his masters in business administration; the next son graduated from Burlington-Edison high (2001)and is a journeyman machinist at Bangor; my youngest son is 20 and unemployed while living with his father; youngest daughter graduated from the A.C.E. (Accelerated Christian Education) school in June 2013 where I taught and is working two jobs currently and beginning college in January 2014. I have five grandchildren ranging in age from 5-9. Was in Bremerton Aug. 2010 to June 2013 and moved to Everett to watch two of my grand-daughters while my daughter went to school during the summer. Have remained in Everett as the job market seems better here than in Bremerton.
Hope to attend a reunion soon.
2/1/2016 In Everett, WA. Have 6 beautiful grand-daughters- any grandparents out there with 6 grand-sons? Enjoy them all so much and so proud of my children. Now have a member of law enforcement in the family. I still get to play the piano at church. I have a great church family that has been encouraging through the turmoil of life.
I hope to make it to the next reunion.
January 2017 My medical assistant daughter has returned to school to complete her RN and will go on for her Master's. My other children are all doing well for the most part with the usual hiccups that life places in our way- they are overcoming them in grand fashion and I am very proud of them.
I like living in Everett but it is 45 min. from my church and has proven prohibitive as far as attending the monthly get-togethers. My dad passed away 2 1/2 years ago but lived much longer than doctors expected because he has two types of muscular dystrophy as well as heart disease, etc. that comes with aging. My mom turns 80 this year and is throwing a bash for herself so will be planning to attend that.
Having a great time caring for my grand-daughters and am finding that chasing a 2 year old around is just as much fun and work as I remember- loving it!
