Gay Rucker Stanhope

Okay, let's clear this up. I don't like to be called "Gay". I never did. My first grade teacher didn't like my real name, G A B R I E L L E T T A. So she just renamed me. She had some issues if you'd asked me. She kept me in the hall most of the first grade. Totally unprovoked too. One of her issues was that I trimmed the arm hair of a sleeping nap partner. I was probably better off in the hall any way. She wanted to do all the talking.
I hope you wont remember me as the girl who had so much sadness in high school. I'd rather you remember me not for so many people in my family dying but for al the life I've lived since high school.
My boy friend in the 6th grade was Steve Stanhope. One day I whispered under my breath, "Steve Stanhope, I'm gonna' marry you some day". He didn't hear me so he didn't fear me. I married him. He's tough.Two weeks out of high school I made my 6th grade words come true. We're still married. You do the math.
We have three kids.
They are all wonderful in their own ways.
Christy is a financial planner by degree. She is am at home mother right now. She's a great mother to three of our grandkids. I would put pictures in for you but it would just upset you to see how our grandkids are cuter than yours. Christy and Doug live near Dallas. They moved to go to Dallas Theological Seminary. He graduated and now we are waiting for them to get a church closer to home. God can do it.
Jeremy lives in Amarillo with his wife Roxy and his three children. He works for Jenkins doors adn Roxy is about to start nursing school. Their kids are also cuter than any one else's. I verified it myself.
We own Alpha Lock and Safe in Amarillo, TX.
I am in the process of retiring from my own neuromuscular massage therapy business after 18 years and working in the lock business. . You are remembering me as being accident prone? Don't panic. I usually stay in the office. I wont be coming out to ruin your locks if you call us!
Laughter and lots of it. That's what has sustained me these years since I last saw you. God took the sadness I had as a child and made me a joyful person. I like me better now than I did then.
You now Willy Nelson and my husband sing a song about the Sunny Side of the Street.
One line in the song is,"I used to walk in the shade with my blues on parade". I didn't know any better in high school.
Another line is "This rover, crossed over". I sure did! WIth the grace of God and the support of a loving husband I made it!
