      Today's Featured Biography

	Sue Criswell Brown

Fred Brown and I got married August 18, 1967.
We had Christie in 1969 and Tanya in 1973. They also graduated from PD. I worked at Levi Strauss for 17.5 years. Then BancCentral ten years (the old North State Bank), then Amarillo National Bank. I am in Accounts Payable - been there for 17 years. Fred worked as Inside Sales for Smith Thompson and part time painter.

Fred always loved his 35 Ford 5 window sedan in high school. In addition to the Ford, we had 36 Ford Woody, 51 Ford Woody, 29 Model A Cabriolet, 31 Ford Coupe, 56 Metropolitan (actually Christie's), 65 Mustang Convertible, 72 & 74 Cadillac Devilles, 68 Ford 2 Door, as well as some daily cars. We had a 105 x 30 garage that was stacked to the roof with rusty car parts!!!

We belonged to the Model A Club, the V-8 Club, the Hot Rod Club, Woody Wagon Club, and we attended several National Meets. The last one we attended, Fred finally got to see Detroit and Henry Ford's home.

We also liked camping and fishing. Mostly trout in Colorado. Well, let's say Fred went camping and I went fishing.

Our parents are gone now. Lost my stepdad in 1974, my mom in 1981, his dad in 1996, his mom in 1998, and Fred in 2000.

Fred died awaiting a liver transplant. We were in Dallas for 3 weeks awaiting the surgery, but no livers were available at that time.

Had to sell our house we had built in Pleasant Valley, all the old cars. I moved to a small garden house in south Amarillo.
It has a small patch of grass around the house and a sprinkler and yard man. I never was one for growing things.

We have Tanya's kids - Jasmine - a senior at Tascosa this year. Basketball nut. Bailey - 7th grader at Austin - electronic games, drama, some music. He is much like Fred - he has never met a stranger and loves to talk.

Fred and I worked on the Reunion Committee every reunion we had until 2000. I am carrying on tradition by still being on the commitee. Every reunion was wonderful, but the PD 50 years and our 45 year were outstanding. I urge everyone to come home to your roots at least once. You are who you are because of where you came from, the people who influenced your life. PD was part of that history.

Even though I did not know every student we graduated with, I so enjoy seeing them and getting to know them better each time we have a reunion.

Happy trails to you until we meet again in 2015!!!

 Sue Criswell Brown

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
