Today's Featured Biography
Steve Schwartzkopf
Hello fellow classmates,
Gosh where do I begin? When I left Lincoln high I enrolled in Southeast Community College and obtained a degree in Industrial Plastics Technology. I accepted a job at EPKRO Plastics in Henderson, Nebraska a town of 900 Mennonites, as a moldmaker where I built plastic injection molds. After about 5 months in Mennonite infested Henderson, the Mennonites did not appreciate my loud music or my purple chopper that I parked in my living room each night. I moved 12 miles to McCool Junction, population 290 and (1) Bar and commuted to Henderson via gravel roads. After getting stuck in a snow drift for 5 hours, I vowed that would be the last winter I would spend in Nebraska. After only 1 year at EPKRO I left and moved to Tempe, Arizona and accepted a general machinist position at Modern Industries, machining aircraft components. I worked at Modern for about 1 1/2 years, during which I bought a house in Scottsdale. I was offered a job at Allied Signal Aerospace as a Production Engineer/Methods Engineer and after 4 years I was promoted to a Manufacturing Engineer over the Research and Development department. After 3 years I was promoted to a Manufacturing Project Engineer and had manufacturing responsibility for the TFE1042 project, the engine for China's first fighter jet and the only afterburning turbine engine Allied Signal has built to date. After 10 years I retired and traveled around the country visiting many friends and classmates. After 2 years I was approached with a business opportunity from a former Allied Signal engineer and he and I started Chips, Incorporated in July 1992. One year after starting the business my partner wanted out, and I purchased his portion of the business. I have continued to build a state of the art CNC turning and milling facility and I am CEO of the corporation. I have one son and he is in the Air Force. I have been divorced for about 18 years now, but I'm still looking for that special gal. I enjoy camping, fishing, snow skiing, water skiing and riding Quads at the Imperial Sand Dunes. I am a PADI certified SCUBA diver and go to Mexico and other tropical locations to dive, sight see, and party about 7 times a year. I have also traveled to Amsterdam and Switzerland and I have many more places I would like to visit. Would you like to come?
Drop me a line,
Steve

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
