Today's Featured Biography
Mary Foster Wolfe
Since leaving good old LHS, I married my high school sweetheart (St.Mary's Cathedral HS), Mike Wolfe, in September 1955. We were married in Oceanside, CA in the Commanding General's Chapel at Camp Pendleton. Mike was Battalion Adjutant at the time. He was a decorated Marine while serving in Korea during the war. I worked as the Secretary to the Publisher of the Oceanside Tribune, until Mike was discharged. We moved back to Lincoln, where Mike finished school at UofN. We moved to Denver, where Mike was Regional Administrator for the Britannica, Corp., and I was a Personnel Specialist with the Martin-Marietta Corp. Mike was transferred to San Diego with the Britannica Corp. I quit working to raise our two daughters and two sons. Mike was offered a position as Administrative Officer with the U. S. Forest Service in Santa Barbara, CA where we had a home in the beautiful Santa Barbara foothills. Mike received promotions which took us to Missoula, Montana, and later to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Our last son, Sean, graduated while we were in Milwaukee, so I enrolled in the famous Bischoff Modeling School and became a professional model. It was the culmination of a childhood dream, and Mike gave me a lot of encouragement. I did runway, catalog, and TV commercial modeling. I did most of my work in Milwaukee, and Lake Geneva in Wisconsin, and in Chicago, Illinois. I met a lot of wonderful people. Modeling is an extremely demanding and fast-paced, but exciting profession. After I did this for several years, Mike's work took us to Portland, Oregon, where he became the Director for the Forest Service for the states of Washington and Oregon, in 1991. Since it takes a lot of time and effort to make all new contacts and become known in a new geographic area, I am now officially retired from modeling. Mike and I have 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Mike has 41 years with the Forest Service and will be retiring soon. We do a lot of traveling having just returned from a trip to the Mexican Riveria. Earlier this year we took a wonderful cruise with 19 of our family members. We love Oregon and plan to stay here when we both are retired. This September, Mike and I will celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
