Today's Featured Biography
Bill North
I was born. ZZZZZZZZZZZ. Have you gone to sleep yet?
At Lincoln High and at the University of Nebraska, I was on both the tennis and swimming teams. When people said "go soak your head" I took them literally.
My B.Sc. was in Business Administration, and my M.A. was in Fiance.
In 1962 I became a social studies teacher at our Lincoln Whittier Junior Htgh. When the Lincoln Air Base closed and enrollment declined, I was transferred to Irving Junior High. Some of you remember these wonderful schools.
When East Junior-Senior High opened in 1968 they needed a tennis coach. Wala! I coached for about eight years. After 23 years in the teaching field, I resigned in 1985.
I've always been interested in business, economics, saving, investing, stocks, mutual funds, bonds and compounding. So, in order to have a bowl of stew once in a while and a little meat in the stew, I became a private invester. I taught a class on wealthbuilding at Southeast Community College, as an adjunct teacher, for three years before the technology crash. For some reason interest in investing declined. Hummm! I wonder why?
Now I am writing wealthbuilding materials and games for teens and twentysomethings. I also have a project in the works designed to highly motivate tweens to ACHIEVE. It's called, The Family Scholarship-Prosperity Plan. My other areas of special interest beyond Nebraska football include: Christianity-Bible Study, politics, economics, contempory social issues, physical fitness-tennis.
I have been married to Mardi since 1968. She works at the Nebraska State Dept. of Education. My son, Chris, is in the process of developing his own business and lives in the Boston area (Salem).
