Today's Featured Biography
Jennifer Harper Bryan
For those of you who have a memory as bad as I do, I moved to Lawson my Jr. year at Chrisman.
I am the mother of two handsome boys, Max 11 and Morgan 5. I have been married to the most incredible man for the past 12 years. With that union I gained a beautiful stepdaughter, Natalie who is soon to be 15.
I was extremely fortunate to be able to stay home with my children for 9 years. Two years ago I decided to get back out into the work force and began an amazing career in Real Estate which I absolutely love. Yes, even in this market. It’s wonderful to find something you enjoy and make money doing it.
My stepdaughter lives in St. Louis and began High School this year. Scary! She is a very intelligent girl, has grades near the top of her class and plays volleyball. She is also gorgeous. Ugh! Since I am the cool step mom, I try to talk to her about the mistakes NOT to make. I think I took care of those for her. Lol
My oldest son Max is in 5th grade. He is extremely caring and compassionate. The teachers of course love him and so do the girls I’m afraid. He has Quarterbacked the Lee’s Summit Tigers Pop Warner Team for the past 5 years. He doesn’t go anywhere without his football and knows more about the sport than most adults we know.
My youngest son Morgan just entered kindergarten. Morgan has a gigantic personality and is our little socialite. Morgan was born with Down syndrome and keeps exceeding all of our expectations. Morgan is in a typical kindergarten classroom and is doing incredible.
Since Morgan was born I have become extremely active with First Downs for Down Syndrome and the Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City (DSG). I held a Board position for 3 years and served as President for 1 year. My husband and I also run a Down Syndrome Community Group for families of children with DS in Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs and Independence.
We live in Lee’s Summit and have great friends that we love to hang out with. We are of course busy with all the extracurricular activates the kids have but try to have time for each other as much as possible.
I have kept in contact with Catherine Pegram and actually assisted in selling her Mothers house in Independence this past Summer.
All in all, life is good and we are truly blessed.
