Today's Featured Biography
Apryl Knobbe
Graduated: UMKC with a BA in the studio arts, Syracuse University with MFA in computer grapics for the visual arts.
Between undergrad and graduate school, my family moved to Austin, Texas and I became a resident Texan. My family continues to reside there on a ranch northwest of the city.
I met my husband in graduate school and we moved out to Los Angeles in 95-96. They made me give up my Texan status and become an Angelean. We live in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains just north of Los Angeles and share our home with one collie and two german shepards. Our two horses are currently residing at a ranch ten miles west of us in the Santa Monica Mountain range.
When I can, I travel, snowboard, ride motorcycles and compete in Equestrian Eventing.
I currenty work as a Digital Artist in visual effects. My credits include Contact, Godzilla, The Postman, Hollow Man, Stuart Little II, The Polar Express, Open Season, I Am Legend, Speed Racer, and Body of Lies. My last large project wasl be as Matte Painting Supervisor for Dreamwork Animation for their film, How to Train Your Dragon. Currently working as Lead Matte Painter for Sony Imageworks in Culver City, California. Previous work includes video games as traditional animator with Animotion (Syracuse) and a previs digital animator/web producer for Curious Pictures (NYC). I've also done some work as a graphic novel artist.
