Stephanie Diesen Michaelis
Greetings classmates! I just ran into a Class of '88 graduate that turned me onto their updated page. So I became curious as to what WE were doing. And since I never liked to be left out of anything, I thought I should take some time to update my information.
So much has changed in the past ten years- almost all good. My daughter, Megan, will be 13. I could never have dreamed of having such a wonderful person as my daughter. We are alot alike, and fortunately we get along! She is a shy, reserved young lady, that when challenged, will hold her own (imagine that!). She attends Eagle Ridge Academy in Eden Prairie. It is a Liberal Arts based charter school and is a great fit for her personality. It has opened a whole new world to her. I have great hopes and confidence that she will accomplish whatever she sets her mind to.
I divorced her father after 7 years of marriage. We are very amicable and he does a great job in sharing the responsiblity. I was quite happy on my own for 4 years. In that time, I quit my job in the insurance industry and went to school at Dunwoody for a degree in Architectural Drafting/ Estimating. This opened the door into the construction industry. Five years later finds me at AMEC, an international engineering/ construction management company for industrial projects. We build large industrial facilities for Cargill and General Mills-worldwide. I work in the Project Controls area as a Procurement/Document Controls Specialist. I would never have dreamed that I would be working with engineers to specify screw conveyors, centrifugal fans, etc.- nor coordinating with field engineers as to the scheduling of construction. I don't know where this will all lead me, although I made a pact with myself to change careers every 10 years. Time to start exploring options!
Also, as a result of joining the world of engineers, I met my significant other- Scott. We worked together, just two cubes a part. It took almost 6 months for us to connect, and now I can't imagine life without him. After 12 years in the industry as a drafter and finishing up school part time, he will have his degree in Civil engineering in December. The three of us are living together in Bloomington (where Meg and I have been for 10 years).
What next? Once Meg graduates from High School and is off on her own life adventure, we hope to make a move out of the cities. Duluth is high on the the list of potential cities. We shall see.
I hope that everyone is doing well. And I do hope that we can soon all get together. Don't forget I have especially great pictures of you...especially Paul, Paul, Ellen, Ellen, Dave, Laura, Bobbi, Chris, Michelle, Erin, Jerimy, Eric, Emily, Becky, Jeff, Kirk, Larry, Heather, Heather, Amy, John, Brett, John, Eric, Doug, Wendy, Leslie, Amy...

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
