My lovely wife, Michelle, and I have lived in Stoughton since 2001 and have two precious daughters, Mandi (12) and Lindsey (2). We adopted Lindsey from China in June of 2009. We live just 3 blocks away from Jeff Krumenauer and his wife Heidi. We hang out as busy schedules allow and even belong to the same church. I work at Affiliated Engineers in Madison (north of the beltline off Whitney Way). I design HVAC systems for lab buildings. Dave Loether also works there.
After HS I went to Bethel College in St. Paul, MN for two years. I began my studies to become a HS math teacher. Mr. Reierson left quite an impact on me. I also played football there until a second concussion ended that fun. After a year hiatus from school, I went to UW-Platteville where I graduated in the spring of 1992. During those summers after HS, I worked at the Dairy Forage Reasearch Center just north of PDS on Hwy 78. One year Jeff Clement worked there too. I loved that gold Chevelle he drove then.
In the fall of 1992, I began my first teaching and coaching job at Lester Prairie, MN (SW of Minneapolis). My wife and I got married that October (soon 18 years ago). That school left a bad impression, so I looked for another school to teach at. No luck at the time so I actually helped on Jim Sprecher's (Jill's brother) dairy farm for half a year and then worked again on the Research farm for half of that year. We lived in PDS in an aptarment building next to Steve Yanke and Tracy Ballweg during that time. I returned to teaching math and coaching in Savanna, IL (just south of Galena). We were there two years and then went on the Paxton, IL (north of Champaign) for five years.
After eight years of teaching and coaching, I realized that for me, it wasn't meant to be a lifetime career. But I did gain a great appreciation for teachers and compassion for students in the various struggles they face.
Besides working some home construction, I took a lot of classes in the summers which allowed me to also teach computer networking and CAD drafting classes. With my background and education, I was able to jump careers to the drafting and engineering field. So I landed my present job in Madison. The bonus was that it allowed us to move closer to grandparents for our then, 3 year-old daughter.
This is already too long of a bio, but I want to end with this final note. Seeing your bio's is fun and I'm happy that you have also been blessed in your lives. All of us however have to admit that the past 25 years has not been all fun and perfect. We've each had our share of tough experiences. My hope is that God has given you peace and healing in those times.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
