Today's Featured Biography
Colleen Roth -Hornung
It's been a busy 30 years! I had a daughter, went to cosmetology school, did that for a while and became bored with it. I went back to college to earn a degree in education, moved to Atlanta and taught there for a couple of years. I moved home,started working with CESA5 as a teacher in the alternative schools, reconnected with Al, got married, and went back to school once again. I earned my Masters in Special Education and now work for CESA5 as the Assistant Alternative Education Coordinator. I oversee program operations in five schools in central WI which keeps me very busy! Al is a Project Manager and Estimator for Capitol Underground and keeps busy practicing martial arts, working out, and hunting...there is always something in season! Al and I live in Roxbury in what we call "Al-Land." Our little "oasis" is some acreage in the middle of the woods on the side of a hill where he can sit in a tree any time he wants. We love traveling together and have visited the South Eastern states, Alaska, Arizona...we use the excuse that we are looking for the perfect place to retire, but as nice as other places are to visit, we haven't found a place better than Wisconsin to live.
...fast forward to 2012...we bought H&K Contracting, Inc. in 2010. Al's dad founded the company in 1973 and when the current owners mentioned retirement, we decided to buy it back. Since the last update, we visited Hawaii for three weeks, had two kids get married and became grandparents again! We love the spoil and return method of grand-parenting!
