Today's Featured Biography
Stephen Chamberlain
After high school I went off to walk the earth. I stopped in eastern Oregon for a while because of its sheer desolate, depressing beauty. After growing tired of the smell of onions and refined sugar, I mosied north to the Great White North that is Canada.
In Canada they say "Eh" a lot and eat silly foods like Kraft Dinner. Kraft Dinner is actually just plain old maccaroni and cheese. And don't you dare order a pizza in Canada with Canadian bacon on it - just call it ham, trust me.
After growing weary of the insanely accomodating people of that foreign land, I headed southwest to Portland, Oregon. While in Portland I learned how to properly toss a keg without throwing my back out, learned what liquified Spam looks like, and met my soul mate.
Tired of all that fun, I felt a deep need to live in Spokane for a while. I never knew Sprague Avenue was so much fun or I would have been up there every weekend in high school.
Somehow Spokane got old and I headed off to Iowa - southeast Iowa to be exact. If you have seen the windiest street in the world in San Francisco then you have to see the windiest alley in the world in Burlington, IA. It's awesome!
Having had my fill of corn and flat landscapes, I wandered farther east to the most exciting city on the eastern seaboard - Wilmington, Delaware. It may not sound like much but if you look at where your credit card statements generally come from, it's Wilmington. Amazing stuff - and I was there!
Once the hustle and bustle of the east coast wore me down I felt I needed some time quiet to relax so I headed to the southwest. Actually, to the Mojave Desert - Adelanto, California to be exact. The sign on the way into town calls this "The Land of Possibilities" and boy was it ever. On a nature walk I honestly found a bleached white coyote skull just sitting there in the desert - just like the movies! The possibilities really were everywhere.
Finally I headed back up to Portland to settle down with my soul mate and live a normal life. I have a real job now at a real company and it's cool.
