Today's Featured Biography
Holly Sprunk
Currently for fun, I like to hang out with my kid, take road trips, and listen to good music in the park, and volunteer at a shelter. Often I pretend I’m an artist; adding a splash of creativity to little things, on paper or in my garden. I’ve also added the following to my “favorites” list: Australia- exploring the Great Barrier Reef, whitewater rafting trips down the Salmon River, summer Harley rides through the Black Hills, Midwest thunderstorms, Labrador retrievers, and snowy cabins in Montana.
After moving around a lot as a kid, I was happy to spend some time in Pullman after HS. I graduated from WSU, and then went to Western Washington University for my graduate work in speech pathology. My favorite classes were about the brain. Near the end of grad school I was thrilled when one of my instructors offered me an internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. But the commute wasn’t so exhilarating. But what did I know? I was still a college student. This turned into my first job and I continued to work with adults. After a few years, I wondered if I could work with kids. So, I got a job at Seattle Children’s Hospital, (rehab floor and inpatient psych unit). I loved it. But I fell in love, got married and moved to across the water to Poulsbo. My commuting days were much shorter this time. We had a baby and I wanted to be closer to home. Since 1996 I’ve worked for a school district and continued to work with soldiers who’ve been injured. My career allows me to use my gifts and touch what I’m passionate about. Since 2002 it’s just been my daughter and me. So it’s time for another adventure.
Earlier this month, I accepted a position overseas as a Speech Pathologist. Soon, we'll be on a long plane trip! Someday I’ll come back to the states and work with soldiers full time, it’s in my blood!
Most likely I’ll be packing boxes, as you’re reading this! Have a great time at the reunion! Cheers!!
Holly

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
