Today's Featured Biography
Shannon Belcher
I have been all over the place since high school. I have been in and out of college trying to determine what it is I really want to study, and whether a college degree would really help me accomplish my goals. I attended Bellevue Comm. College, Evergreen State College, Rocky Mountain School of Photography.
At BCC, I took a few general requirements, and participated in the choir, which was fun. At Evergreen, I mostly studied religion, which has always been an interesting subject to me. I attended the Summer Intensive course at RMSP, which is their most indepth course. It covers just about everything you would want to know about photography in 11 weeks. There were about 100 other students over that summer, and we had a great time camping out for our photography field trips. After the summer intensive program, I went to Italy on a program with RMSP. I have a fairly large portfolio from Italy, and have done a couple of gallery shows with that work in some small venues.
I also took a doula course at the Seattle Midwifery School. A doula is essentially a professional birth coach. I have attended three births, and for me it is an easy and relaxing job. I have not had a chance to do more because of work and school, but would not mind doing that more.
I have developed a reputation as a wanderer. I have, on occasion, quit a job just to leave town on a road trip. I was gone once within 24 hours after making the decision, with no plans as to where to go, and did not return for a month. I also flew to Rome spontaneously in first class once. Of course, I was working for a reputable airline at the time, and could get discounted tickets.
Speaking of the airline...I worked for one of the top 10 airlines for about a year and a half, almost two years. After they filed bankruptcy, and I looked around at all the people who had been there for 20 years, I left. I decided I did not want to work in a call center for the rest of my life. So I moved back to Missouri to return to school.
I am in school in Missouri now, working on my tourism degree. I love the program, hate the town. I am actually currently looking for another school with a similar program in a better place.
About a year ago, I met a man online. A long story short, he now lives with me in Warrensburg, MO. He hates Warrensburg more than I do, which is why I am looking for another school. No marriage or kids yet, but we are happy to wait a little longer on both.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
