Today's Featured Biography
Curtis McAdams
Whew! This could be long...but I'll try to keep it short so you don't fall asleep.
As many of you know, I worked at MickyD's during high school. Back then it was fun to work there. Met a lot of great people....a few who are still good friends and a lot others who I wish I had stayed in contact with. I sporadically attended BCC and ECC until 1985. I then fell in love (I thought) with one of my best friend's sister and followed her to Wazzoo. Wazzoo was awesome. Loved it...but, I only stayed 2.5 years. In December 1987, I followed my parents to Las Vegas. That's right, Sin City... and I was once again a Rebel. Only this time I was a "Runnin' Rebel".
The best part of Vegas was meeting my wife in Accounting classes. I always thought she was flirting with me when I came into class late. She'd always flash me her great smile. Now, she says she just thought I was funny looking and she thought it humorous that I was always late. Whatever!
I graduated from UNLV in December 1991 with a B.S. in Finance. And yes, I can B.S. with the best of em (lol). After graduating I wanted to get out of Las Vegas. It was great a great city, but I didn't care to work for a casino which is obviously the major industry.
In August 1992, I then followed my parents yet again. This time to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I am still in the DFW area in Arlington, Texas.
I have worked at the same company since 1/93 as the claims manager (life & disability). I am also a C.P.A. and have a secondary tax preparation business. I plan to grow my tax business for the 2003 tax year by opening a store front location.
My wife and I have no children...yet. She is finally starting to talk about having one, so I guess we better hurry. We spend a lot of time working out at 24HoursFitness, going to movies, hanging out with friends, skiing (snow and water), scuba diving, rock climbing (mostly indoors), and traveling. We love to go to Costa Rica and Mexico (Cozumel & Cancun). We are also planning a trip to Thailand shortly after our 20th class reunion.
Well, I guess this wasn't so short. But, I hope it was either informative or at the least, a good sleep aid!
