Today's Featured Biography
Judy Kressley Smith
We have been married since June 7, 1969 and we have one son. He isn't married and so far, we have no daughter-in-law or grandchildren. We have spoken to our son about this and he promises he is working on it.
We have a Mini Dachsund named Tinkerbell, but we were hoping for grandchildren instead. Guess we still have a chance at that, but only time will tell.
I retired in October 2005 from the City of Pasadena where I was the PBX/Telecom Manager for thirty-seven years. I had been stationed in the Police Building for over thirty years and the last four years of my employment, was spent in the city hall in an office with windows. (The police station has none).
We have lived in Seabrook for over fifteen years and enjoy the relaxed lifestyle of the residents and the closeness to the water. Hwy. 146 is hard to contend with on the weekends so we just avoid going over the Kemah bridge when we can.
My husband is also retired and we spend a lot of time together and still have "date nights" once a month to keep up the illusion we are still young. Ha!
I am considering reentering the work force after August and would like to do something out of my comfort zone of maintaining the company telephones and pagers. I enjoy my morning coffee and reading the paper in the mornings, so a job that allows me that freedom may be hard to find.
I enjoy new ventures and am now in the position of being free to do what I want with my day instead of being on call 24/7 as I was when employed as the supervisor of my department.
I am looking forward next year to seeing my classmates and renewing old friendships. Time really gets away from you and it hard to believe we have been out of school for over forty years. Boy, I don't feel that old!
It should be fun seeing all the "Pasadena Eagles" again and remembering we were once young and foolish and hopefully we have all aged well and and are in good health.
