Today's Featured Biography
Mark Gordon
I moved to Atlanta the day of graduation and embraced the diversity and opportunity of "city" living. I miss the quaintness and calm of the county, but dig the hustle, bustle, and cultural aspects of "big" city living.
I'm currently a Creative Director in Advertising at Aspen Marketing Services, based out of Chicago, but branched here in ATL. My main client is Hewlett-Packard with a focus on B2B advertising. I love it, it's what I had always set out to do and am having a great time with it.
On the home front I live in East Atlanta Village (http://www.eastatlantavillage.net/), about 3 minutes from downtown) with my husband, Cameron (met in '98) and two pets. We've built a custom craftsman style home about 9 years ago within walking distance to the village and have been living the life fantastic ever since. We recently became Godfathers, pretty cool (and we don't even live in Chicago). My Mom (Linda) passed away in 2000, my dad (Jerry) (retired) remarried and relocated to Blue Ridge, GA and my bro, Scott (architect) is married with 2 kids (girls) in Woodstock, GA.
My passion for music is still very much a part of me with the mantra, "iPod, therefore I am." Ah, the 80's and I'm sure some of you are curious as to what become of the Duran Duran obsession... I speratically romped across the U.S. with Duran Duran from 88 to 02 - yes, sometimes fantasy became reality - some absurd adventures were had that's for sure... My musical interests have broadened nicely and you may even find me Dj'ing from time-to-time in Atlanta as DJ Diablo Rojo...
Other noteworthy facts/experiences: Politics bore me (especially C- quality leadership), I'm a Macintosh aficionado, a tornado survivor, your body is a temple, so decorate it - get some body bling like a tat or a piercing (or 2 or 3 or...), 300GB+ of music in my collection, still have a record player, still use it from time-to-time, still miss Jim Henson daily, TV is a turn off, but secretly I Tivo: Weeds, Dexter, Project Runway, Pride Fighting and watch all with a sense of deep guilt, Samantha Ward lived with me in ATL for about 4 months - where is she now?, I'm an avid art collector, work out daily, still love barbecue, and love to travel abroad when possible, and have never revisited the rock and roll hairstyles of the eighties - "less" is the new "more".
