Today's Featured Biography
Rita Shook Garner
I'm a Paraprofessional. I work with At-Risk and behavior disorder kids 7th through 12th grade. I help students on a computer program called VPL (Virtual Prescriptive Learning) to earn credits for graduation that they are lacking such as World History, Biology, Algebra, etc. My many talents include cracking the whip so to speak for ISS ( In-School Suspension). Another job description is Alternative Program. Its a program for students that are close to being kicked out of school. I am their last chance to get an education and put their lives back on the right track. Most of those students have behavior disoreders or have been in trouble with the law at one time or another. My over achiever son, Seth, keeps me busy with his tennis, track, golf, soccer, bowling, piano lessons, choir concerts, and playing his drums. In October 2006 he recieved his black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He has been taking Tae Kwon Do lessons for five years. Seth is now concidered an instructor at the age of 13. Recently I was proposed to by a wonderful man, Mark Potter. We haven't set the date but we are thinking of getting married barefoot, on the beach in Jamaica.
