Today's Featured Biography
Paula Ibach Plush
I've been lucky (or not...depending on how you look at it) enough to stay in Ark City since ACHS graduation. I worked at General Electric for 40 years before retiring. When I retired I had been in Customer Service for twenty years. First with private aircraft owners of Learjets, Falcons, etc., followed by Regional Airlines for American Airlines, Delta, Northwest, etc. I had also worked with foreign customers from Europe, Mexico, South America, the Middle East, and China. So, even though I stayed in Ark City, the world came to me, more or less. I retired 2/1/2000. Went back and worked Jan 2001 - Mar 2001. (Not the smartest thing I've ever done!) Have been very retired since then. Jerry had retired in 1998 from the BNSF RR after 46 years, so we had to get used to both of us being at home together. MAJOR adjustment! He played lots of golf, went hunting (birds, deer, & elk), went fishing & fly-fishing, and joined the Lions Club and stayed busy away from the house most of the time. I became "just a homemaker" and have been able to just enjoy my home for the first time in my entire married life. Jerry passed away very unexpectedly June 2, 2006 while on a fishing trip to Canada. I'm trying to get on with my life by staying busy taking care of his four German Shorthair dogs, my two cats, the house, and HUGE yard. It isn't easy but staying so busy has been the best thing for me. I've recently joined the Lioness and Lions Clubs so that will help me keep even busier. I'm also being active in working with other classmates in getting our 50th Class Reunion planned for 2007. Sure hope most of our classmates can make it back here for that. A big turnout always makes those of us who work on it feel that all our hard work has been worth it. So hope to see you then. Now, be sure you post your info on this website too.
