Today's Featured Biography
Elaine Coffelt Atkins
Things have changed a bit since this was last posted. Ron and I are still in the country but have curtailed our church activities and aren't quite as busy as we were. I have stopped playing and singing (finally) and someone has taken over the women's group (at last). Our two granddaughters have graduated from college and are both married. Jessica has provided us with a great grandson and is expecting her second child in June. Erica and her husband are living in Lawrence, Kansas. She teaches 5th grade while he is attending law school. We really enjoy seeing them all and have fun with them. Our grandson will graduate from college in May with a business degree but he thinks he wants to be a firefighter. Holly and her husband moved back to Colorado 2 years ago and they have bought acreage about 30 min. from us and are putting up a house. It is so great having the girls close by. Lori and her husband run about 200 head of cattle which keeps them extremely busy. Ron and I feel very blessed to have reached 55 years of marriage and are hoping for many more. Ron had bypass surgery 2 years ago but is good health. His horses keep him fit. I work on my dolls and do some quilting so I manage to keep busy. We love our life and are grateful for every day. I was an Army wife, homemaker and church choir director until Ron retired in June of 1981. We lived all over the country but enjoyed our tour in Hawaii the most. While we were stationed in Virginia I finally graduated from college (Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond). In 1981 we moved to Colorado Springs where my family lived and have been in Colorado ever since. I worked for International Bible Society for ten years, first as an Exec. Assistant to a VP and then as a Grantwriter. Retired in 1999. In 1997 we moved from the Springs to the country, east of COS, to be near Lori and her rancher husband, just 6 miles away. They have three children - our tremendously wonderful grandchildren Jessica (1989), Erica (1990) and Clint (1991). Jessica will graduate in May, exactly 50 years after Grandma did. I started working part-time in the office of the country school the grandkids attend in 2001. Enjoyed it and continued working for 3 years but have now quit working for pay for good. Lori has been teaching music and drama at the school for 7 years but is giving it up in an effort to keep up with 3 teenagers and a ranching operation. Holly worked in the Springs in insurance until she married a pastor and moved to Gloucester, Virginia. Her husband, Tom,is a minister of music and she plays piano and sings in all of his programs and services. I keep busy with family and church activities. I play keyboard for our church services and still sing some. I got a women's group started 2 years ago and am president of it until someone else steps up to take over. I collect antique and vintage dolls and spend time repairing and reburbishing them when necessary. After retiring from the army Ron became a church business administrator for 8 years. When we moved to the country he bought some horses and now spends time training them. We love country life! Ron is also very involved in all aspects of our church, everything from being and elder to repairing things and taking care of the finances and business. Never a dull moment!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
