Today's Featured Biography
Eugene Burr
Sally and I married in 1959 and both attended ACJC. After my graduation (Sally was working at Southwestern Bell; I became one of the original "Mr. Mom's" for our son Kevin) we moved to Emporia where I obtained a BS in preparation for a teaching career. We moved to Dodge City in 1963 where I taught history and government and coached football, wrestling, track (even some basketball and baseball) for 20 years. While at Dodge I completed a Master's Degree in History at Emporia, and another in School Administration at Fort Hays State. I eventually entered administration. We moved to Oklahoma City in 1981 where I assumed the principalship at Central Mid-High in Moore. After a few years, I became principal at Moore High School and there I stayed. An illness (Guillain-Barre' Syndrome) forced me to miss my last year of work so I retired in 2003. We moved back to Ark City, built a home and are settled until the next phase, whatever it may be. Our son Kevin is Superintendent of Schools in Sapulpa, OK, and son Steve is VP of Development at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. We have 3 grandchildren: Jordan (1983), Britton (1988) and Nicholas (1997) and 3 great grands -- Aniston (2012), Chase (2012) and Parker (2012). In September of '07 we went again to England, met up with Sal's penpal of 60 years and her husband, and the four of us "did Ireland." What fun! We returned to England, Ireland and Scotland in '09, this time with our Oklahoma City traveling buddies, Dave & Mary Jones. More fun! In March of '08 we took Jordan and Nicholas on a fast-paced trip to Rome and Venice. Neither had been abroad and both were very excited. We love Italy and will use any excuse to go there. In March of '10 we took Nicholas to Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, etc. In 2010 Sally had a knee replaced so no travel that year. In 2011, after Sally's nephrectomy (Renal Cell Carcinoma) we traveled to England and France with the Jones duo -- a trip most appreciated after the close call with kidney cancer. Most recently, we spent a month in England, France and Italy with Bob Buzzi & Karolyn. We were able to share our English friends with them, as well as our Italian friends. Life is good.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
