Today's Featured Biography
David Decker
The last 25 years have taken me into many parts of the world and given me the chance to see many things. In 1980-1981, I continued to play bass guitar in the band ‘Pegasus’ with Oliver Begay and Lance Powers (both class of 1980). We toured Kansas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, and Nevada. I returned to Arkansas City in the fall of 1981 and worked at Sparks Music until I left for the USAF on February 28, 1983. I received my training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX, and Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX. My first assignment was to Lowry AFB in Denver, CO, followed by three years at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, AK. This is where Dawn Barker (class of 1980) and I married in 1987. Dawn, I, and our three sons moved to Randolph AFB in San Antonio, TX, during which I deployed to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in support of Desert Storm. Next we went to RAF Lakenheath, England (about an hour NE of London) where we enjoyed site-seeing to Scotland, France, Germany, and Italy. We returned to the US where I worked at the Pentagon and we lived in Washington, DC.
Dawn and the boys moved back to Randolph AFB as I went on to Kunsan AB, Republic of South Korea. A year later, I caught up with Dawn and the boys in San Antonio and retired 3½ years later with 21 years of service. I have since been employed with the USAF Civil Service as an IT Project Manager. Most of my projects are in the voice communication systems, but we are expanding to the installation of voice/data converged systems.
Dawn and I separated in the fall of 2003 after raising three wonderful sons. Justin is 26, married Jennifer in March 2006, graduated from Texas A&M University in August 2006, and is a 1 Lt in the US Army stationed at Fort Gordon, GA. Justin and Jennifer have a son named Mason Bradly, and are expecting their second son in Jan 2010. Jason is 25 and served six years in the USAF as a firefighter stationed at Luke AFB in Phoenix, AZ and spent time in Iraq at the Baghdad International Airport in support of the war in Iraq. He married Bernadette in July 2008 and they have a son Landon Brodie. Jason and family moved back to San Antonio after the USAF. James is 21 and is a senior at Texas A&M University where he is Combined Band Chaplin in the Fighting Texas Aggie Band and a member of the Corps of Cadets.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
